Level 3 Award in Leadership

The ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership has been designed to give practicing or aspiring first line managers a solid foundation for their formal development as a leader.

The programme requires candidates to complete two mandatory modules. Each module is assessed to ensure understanding of the key concepts; assessments may include work based assignments, projects and presentations.

Course structure

  • Minimum 20 guided learning hours which include attendance at the modules listed below:

  • Leading a team effectively

Membership benefits

As ILM registered learners, all candidates receive student membership to the ILM free of charge. This provides access to ILM’s learning resources for one year:- access to books, journals and articles for continuing professional development.

  • Reflective review
  • Leadership action plan and learning log

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, but participants will normally be either practising or aspiring first line managers in a role where they have the opportunity to meet the assessment demands and have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme.
