TPD™ Diagnostic

The development of high performing teams is critical to the success of organisations today. Identifying the areas for team development quickly and accurately can help you to focus training where it’s needed most.

The Team Performance Development (or TPD™) diagnostic is a unique tool that enables team leaders to gain an invaluable insight into the underlying dynamics within their teams. This identifies specific areas for focus and development to improve team performance.

  • The TPD™ diagnostic is the result of a comprehensive study into high performing teams which was a collaborative partnership between SIA Group and Dr Allam Ahmed at the University of Sussex. This research has been summarised in the publication of ‘The 13 Key Performance Indicators for Highly Effective Teams’ published by Greenleaf Publishing.
  • The TPD™ diagnostic examines 13 key indicators including the level of morale, the style of leadership, and relationships and communications, both within the team and with other parts of the organisation: vital factors that affect the team's performance on a daily basis.
  • The TPD™ consists of 65 statements (completed online) which examine the health of the team overall and drills down to individual statement level. This enables very specific issues to be identified and development budgets to be targeted at precise issues. The information is collected electronically and anonymously, enabling respondents to be completely honest in their responses, thus providing an accurate picture of the actual situation within the team.
  • The responses form the basis of a comprehensive report which is prepared for the team leader and fed back by an SIA Group consultant, ensuring that any development areas are highlighted and discussed. If you would prefer, you or a member of your team can also become accredited to deliver feedback within your organisation.
  • The process is simple, quick to complete and is managed entirely by SIA Group, meaning that no additional demands are made on your internal resources.
  • SIA Group is committed to demonstrating return on investment.  When used with other development programmes the TPD™ can measure the extent to which the participants have applied the learning and changed their behaviour as a result. We recommend that TPD™ is used at the beginning of a training programme and again 6 months after the training has taken place. This demonstrates not only ROI but also targets further areas for development.
  • TPD™ is widely used globally by our clients across many sectors including Telecommunications, Education, NHS, IT, Engineering and Distribution & Logistics.
