Presentation Skills

Most roles today require some form of presentation from time to time - whether formal or informal, presentations are windows of opportunity to both promote ones personal PR and to influence others.

This is an interactive workshop, in which participants gain an understanding of the principles of presenting and develop the skills to write and deliver presentations confidently through using advanced preparation and platform techniques. Participants will be given the opportunity to develop their self-confidence and learn how best to control any nerves.

Objectives

• Understand the purpose and value of powerful presentations
• How to analyse and understanding audience needs and different attitudes and match audience needs and presentation benefits
• Learn to set presentation objectives and plan an appropriate structure for a presentation
• Plan and prepare audience focused presentations, shifting the emphasis away from the technical content
• Develop professional platform skills and learn how to handle audience questions with confidence
• Learn how to control any nerves and use simple tips to improve your self-confidence
• Using computer generated visuals effectively to support rather than drive a presentation
• Practice writing and delivering a presentation in a safe learning environment with individual feedback aimed at fine tuning skills
• Each participant will take away a personal video of them making their final presentation

Target Audience

This course is aimed at all managers and staff who would like to develop their skills and confidence in presenting in both formal and informal settings.

An Advanced Presentation Skills course is also available which consists of half day 1:1 sessions specifically designed for experienced presenters to gain personal tutoring and coaching on their presentation style. Additional sessions can be booked as and when required.
