Team Performance Development

Organisations consist of people working together - often in teams.  Teams are important and increasingly so because the problems associated with the complexity and dynamism of the global economy are better addressed by bringing together a multiplicity of views and perspectives represented by people working together in teams.  Effective leadership of teams on the international stage means managing the people, clarifying their goals, nurturing their talent, harnessing their potential and ensuring that the inter-personal elements are well managed.

This course introduces the Team Performance Development (TPD™) Model which focuses on the 13 key elements that contribute to the generation of high performance in teams.

Objectives

• Describe the principles of effective teamwork  and the differences between groups and teams
• Identify the role and responsibilities of the team leader and the associated skills required
• Identify the different behavioural styles of individuals within the team and how these impact on team working
• Examine the benefits of team ground rules and team processes and how to use these to enhance the team’s performance
• Understand team roles and the blend of roles within the team which influences performance
• Improve team working and individual and team motivation
• Describe the ‘stages of team development’
• Learn how to diagnose the current situation of your team in relation to the TPD™ Model and help your team to progress and achieve and sustain optimum team performance
